Background
SeaScience CC was initially Bergman Marine Science Consultancy (BMSC), founded in March 2004, and provides quality support to the Global Meteorological and Oceanographic (Metocean) Industry. This Small Business Enterprise is solely owned and operated by Selwyn Bergman, a Historically Disadvantaged South African, who holds a MSc. qualification in Physical Oceanography as well as a certificate in Project Management. Selwyn also has vast experience in the field of Software Development. After gaining experience in the Metocean Industry, Selwyn decided to respond to the demands for alternative sources of Metocean Services. As the number of service providers in this market decreased, he became a freelance consultant with an established vision that gave rise to a progressive Small Business Enterprise, specialising in Metocean Services. Realising that SeaScience's capabilities could be extended to offer greater flexibility to clients, partnerships with other qualified individuals were set up to enhance capabilities in related fields. SeaScience is currently active in a single project, the Oceanography SA Website, and is not seeking participation in any new ventures.

SeaScience offers technologically advanced and innovative data analysis in support of any Metocean Project. Various types scientific data analyses are available on request and include recommendations from qualified Oceanographers.
Our Purpose
SeaScience offers a Quality Assurance program that is executed and reviewed by suitably qualified personnel. Through the use of a strict set of quality control tests and procedures, we provide Quality Assurance to all Metocean data. This ensures that the data meets the client-specific, and company-recommended quality standards.
